                                That is funny to hear. I am sure there are some of the small market teams out there suffering. They aren't selling tickets or jerseys. A team like L.A. makes money hand over fist. Even in this economy they are selling out every game. Same here in NYC. The knicks are barely a contender for the playoffs and they always have the garden packed, and the tickets aren't cheap at all.

                                            At the local malls around Vancouver the big department stores are looking smaller inside. Also small mom and pop restaurants are really, really hurting. The greek place that used to be packed for lunch and dinner on every day of the week now is only half staffed except on weekends. The Italian place turned into a pizza diner, then shut down entirely. And little clothing stores seem to be closing up pretty quickly.

                                            I predict a closing of a bunch of the little off-brand cell phone stores. They're so tiny and change regularly anyway. Also I think clothing stores will have to consolidate lines. Old Navy seems to be hurting bad, especially considering the sheer size of their stores.

                                                I can't name specific companies, but the trend seems to be the same across-the-board. If you sell inferior products, mark-up your products through the roof, or can't come close to competing with online pricing, you will not stay afloat.
