I was glad to see that Frosty, Heidi & Frank would no longer be on the radio in LA, their show was terrible. I will miss listening to Leykis though, Frank said that all the talent at KLSX agreed to take a pay cut to stay on the air but Leykis was the only host who would not take a pay cut. Tom's decision to not take a pay cut is what caused the format change according to Frank. However, Tom said Frank is a liar, he was never approached to take a pay cut and Tom challenged Frank to provide evidence that Tom was approached to take a pay cut.Comment

It's not just LA radio this is happening to. Opie and Anthony lost a lot of their Citadel markets despite high ratings, because it was cheaper for Citadel to pay a low wage disc jockey to push buttons and play songs than it was to pay O+A's syndication fees. The bottom line is the ad market for radio stations is in the shitter, and if they can't sell ads it doesn't matter what your ratings are. I listen to Opie and Anthony on XM Sirius, but if XM Sirius goes bankrupt I don't know what I'll listen to...Comment

that can't possibly be true. they didn't decide to change the format of a radio station based on tom lykis. thats a massive change and those shows all made piles of money, were syndicated across the nation etc. the format change had nothing to do with the hosts or the affiliates that got fucked.Comment

The music they play on 97.1 is fn horrible. I've tuned in 3 diff times since the change and it was the same fn song all 3 times.. It was tradition for me to get a smoothie from Robeks and listen to Frosty Heidi n Frank on my long drive home from KB's 2x a week, now I have to listen to my IPOD, ugh

That process started when Album rock station KMET changed to "new jazz" KTWV and when the Metal capital of southern california, KNAC changed to a Mexican banda music station. I hated the latter at first then actually began to like banda/corrido music. Los Tigres Del Norte!

I'm the model in question and it really isn't that exciting. Just a Video Secrets studio manager in Toronto acting like a 12 year old even though he is in his late 30s. Apparently he believes he 'owns' craigslist and all the models who worked for him over the years.
I'm rather busy and not interested in being involved in grade school pranks, so the best approach is to just ignore him. It is just a pity because Video Secrets is a great company in all other aspects.
But move along now, there really is no drama here

That is because Tom was also offered a huge deal to go to satellite which he turned down for even more money. Reason being his audience would shrink if he went and once you leave terrestrial radio it is like being a mainstream actress and doing porn. You are considered dirty and no one wants you back...
Tom is a marketing genius... Now he can go satellite and make double the cash... That is if CBS will take his offer to pay him 80% of the remainder of the contract so he can go.Comment
