    (Google) Violating ad experiences detected..

Anyone else received an email from google webmaster tools?

Its saying I have popups on my site. And they even have 30 videos of someone surfing my site. But every video I watched I see 0 popups. is there a new definition of popup? I do have a banner that is displayed in the video player when a video is not playing, and I have a small floater type ad in the bottom corner. But I have 0 popups and have never added a popup code to my site.

Well I did some searching and I found this

    https://support.google.com/webtools/...-1506473746545

These are considered popups by google
•Ads that appear only when a video is paused
•Image ads that appear over videos or games, including during the timeframe in which a pre-roll video ad might normally appear.

If Google has banned it, then you know whatever it is you are doing is good for you and bad for Google.

its not banned but I think in the future all ads on the site will be blocked by chrome if its not changed. They are reviewing every site on the web I guess or at least every site registered in google webmaster tools

my ranking wasn't affected. I think this has to do with future ad blocking in chrome browser. they will only block ads on sites that fail their tests.

Do you embed videos from the sites that use pop ups? I would recommend to use kenplayer plugin and you will not get any pop ups or ads unless you want to put your own ones.

I use a mix of sponsor hosted videos and host the rest myself. The consider any ad in the video player a popup
