The Arabs made a deal with the British during the First World War. It was that they rule a United Middle East after the Ottomans were beaten. The Ottomans being Muslim and running the Middle East with horrible atrocities the committed, including genocide.
The British rightly broke that promise. Can you imagine the Middle East ruled by the Saudi Royal Family?
They broke up the Middle East with a ruler, separating countries in straight lines. That still exists today, the Muslims weren't able to throw out the British divides and apply ones that suited them better.
Without the Western Alliance fighting in Muslim countries, the Middle East would be ruled by ISIS, Al Queda, Al-Shabaab, Hezbollah, Hamas, Taliban and a few more terrorist groups. Unless they're run like Iran or Saudi.
