What I, and any smart democrat fears, is not only does this not touch Trump, but it reflects poorly on the Obama admin at a time when republicans control congress.
Right now the WSJ, a publication none of these boneheads read since they only read far left crap, is saying hearings need to be held that a candidate from an out of power party was wiretapped. This will give Manafort courage and turn the independents away from Dems.
Much smarter would have been to go after turnout, but that takes effort, something the Bernie Bros don't want to put out.

Look at it this way,
Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, were convinced that Hillary had some kind of CP thing going on in a Pizza Parlour (Pizzagate), among other things.
Someone out there, treated everyone like the idiots that they are, and walked right over them.
If this isn't talked. If people do nothing at all, the same thing can happen again.

I'm so tired of this already.
We had a dozen investigations into Hillary Clinton. We knew in both cases that there was no crime committed. With the emails we knew no crime was committed; There is no law that says the Secretary of State cannot store or send classified material from a private email server - in fact, this is common both at the State Department and Congress. (Oddly enough, we haven't investigated any one else about how they sent out classified emails even though we know dozens used the same exact system.) For some reason we had to investigate Benghazi multiple times. Not sure why, because the Secretary of State clearly didn't break any laws nor did anyone else.
On the other hand we have a President in office who clearly had help from a foreign government. A political candidate with zero political experience lied about everything and managed to defy logic and all of the polls and somehow won an election much to everyone's surprise? At the same time we have the Russians who hacked the DNC to release information, we have Russia buying political ads on Facebook, We have dozens and dozens of secret meetings between the Russian government the Trump people and if that isn't enough the Trump people lied about all of it - including lying under oath about meetings with the Russian government. At the very exact moment we have Trump's son setting up a secret line of communication with the Russian government?
Think about this for a moment... Someone with no political experience at all is setting up a secret line of communication with the Russian government. We have the entire State Department to guide the president in such matters and he is going to ignore EVERYONE because "he knows better"? Does anyone really think Trump knows better? Really?
We have a president with no experience who clearly is fucking everything up, with evidence every time we turn around that he got help from a foreign government... He gave his first speech at the UN and pretty much threatened to destroy another country for no reason at all. He has the lowest approval rating of any President in modern history, and has accomplished NOTHING at all.

It's painfully obvious that they've caught Manafort doing something very bad, and he will be facing jail time. They will say "If you know anything about Trump / Russian collusion, you need to tell us or you will spend decades in jail". We already know there was collusion; Jared was talking to the Russians about using a secret Russian facility in the United States so they could communicate in secret. WTF?

Write real paper letters to senior citizens who didn't vote? Encourage younger voters to register and vote?

But this is the way the Republican party operates. I used to be a hardcore Republican until the Whitewater investigation. During the Whitewater investigation they asked questions that were completely related to the investigation, and at a certain point they were just fishing - looking for anything that might make the president look bad. They didn't find anything, and all they got was forcing the President into a corner asking personal questions about his sex life that never should have been asked in the first place. It was disgusting.
Then with Hillary they've painted her as being corrupt and a criminal, when in fact over a dozen investigations has proven no wrong doing and no charges. These were obviously nothing more than witch hunts with the intention of making Hillary Clinton look bad. This is not how our government is supposed to operate.
Now we have this Russian investigation. We already know there was collusion between the Trump Campaign in the Russian government. This is no longer open to debate. We know that Jared was talking to the Russian government about communicating in secret. We have secret meetings all over the place, Manfort offering weekly briefings, secret meetings in the Indian Ocean, leaders of foreign countries secretly flying into the US for yet more secret meetings.
It's pretty obvious what happened. This is going to play itself out. Just today the investigation outlined thirteen areas were they want further documentation from the White House.

I have said many times that I think the electoral college that we use to elect the president is outdated and actually encourages corruption and lower voter turnout. If it were up to me, the presidential election would be just like all the others. The person with the most votes wins.Comment

You are making the assumption that one candidate could win 100% of the vote in those areas which is not the case. Let's look at the math. Using the numbers from the last election, we can assume it will take about 65 million votes to win. So, if we add up all the votes Hillary got in the 10 most heavily populated states in the US it comes to a total of around 35.8 million. She is still about 30 million shy of winning. Meanwhile, Trump got about 31 million votes from those same states. Keep in mind that Trump openly admits that he didn't bother campaigning or spending money in New York or California. Had he done that he could have gotten more votes from those states.
So, after the voting is done in the 10 most popular states, both candidates still have a long ways to go and they are going to have to focus their campaigns on the rest of the country and not just the major cities.
Also, your argument that there would never be a Republican president is moot because G.W. Bush won the popular vote in 2004 by about 3 million votes.Comment

I also think Trump was not elected by legit means - he had help from a foreign power. This is becoming more and more obvious every day. However, this surely does not mean Hillary gets to take his place. No matter what Hillary has not won the election, and in the event Trump is removed Pence would take his place. However, if Trump goes Pence would have to go too; The only reason Pence is in office is because the Trump campaign received help from a foreign power. Doesn't that put Ryan next in line?
