Good luck last year one of my dogs got lymphoma . I put him to sleep after 4 months of deteriorating. Sometimes I feel guilty I didn't notice anything earlier though rarely do people notice anything till it's more developed . There is a good message board at sitstay.com about pets , health and more. I still miss him but like it or not that's life. And then I got two more to make up for him . He was a giant anatolian dog , now I have two large mutts .

I have a Cat as well but he hasn't got a tail

he had to get it cut off coz some sick asshole thought it would be hilaious to hang him from a door with his tail.....he never thought it was funny when I caught him tho.....

But he is a happy cat and still going strong aged 10 years old!!!

Well, there's nothing definitive as of yet.

Wednesday morning after a night of fluids and antibiotics for Smokey's respriratory infection, he developed a slight heart murmur. ..something that's not uncommon when you load fluids into a geriatric cat. The doctor decided to try a fine needle biopsy of the abdominal mass rather than risk exploratory surgery right off the bat. The mass is partially fluid-filled. They drew cells from it and at first look nothing looks cancerous, but the pathology lab has the final say on that.

It's likely that it's not cancerous, so the next step becomes whether it is hampering any of his organs and needs to be removed. Beyond that is whether this mass has anything to do with his 2lb weight loss over the last 18 months or if that's something else altogether.

He's to have an ultrasound on Friday to get a good look at the mass, his pancreas and some other organs. That will determine the next step.. either an exploratory next week if needed or home for some recoup time and then a look at where things are and if he's still loosing weight.
