The Content + VOD + Tube Site Combo Offers
In the past two months, I have had a few coders, and designers contact me about working on a partnership where I supply the content, and they do the script for either VOD, or tube, or some kinda in between.
The premise is, I supply the goodies. They will build the script, do the marketing, and advertising, traffic, and so forth. We split the revenue 50/50.
I am wondering how many other people are considering this option?
I am not completely against it, but I am taking a bigger risk in my content, and it getting ripped, and so forth. Plus reinforcing some of the surfer behavior. That said, I can think of a few ways this could be beneficial as well. So I am thinking on the idea. Although, I do not think script and marketing is a fair trade off for good content alone to get to 50/50. I think they need to BUY IN to something like this.
I am not against some free extra money. Just like those who've offered to build me an affiliate program, run it, and get a percent of profits. But at the same time. To get a decent percent of revenue, much less ownership, you need to drop cash on the table to show you are serious, and have the right motivation with your own money riding on the line.
I, personally, would consider something a bit different than the offers received so far in regards to the KIND of script. However, they need to bring some cash money to the table for me to seriously consider the risk versus rewards. That said, I am sure some other straight up content providers are considering this little offer right now, if they have not accepted already.
