          Kaep hasn't played well in years. Just no point to sign him unless it's as a backup or third stringer. If he does well and moves up, then that's fine.

          He would have to accept the lower role and money, but I'm not sure if he's about that.

                                                                          Kaepernik made one major error, he took it on the field. If he'd have done something in his off time, away from practice, away from the field, owners would not care. But he took it onto the field while he was in uniform. That kind of controversy while representing the team and the league is bad for business. That's why he hasn't been signed. He's not a good enough QB to overlook that issue.
