Portion control and exercise is what is going to help you loose weight. It won't be fast, but will come off if you keep with it. Do heavy weights and high intensity interval cardio (so start with 30sec at 90% and 90sec active rest) to start. Going 45 minutes at 60% teaches your body to be more efficient not to burn fat. Screw these fad diets and such. You will never keep the weight off with those. You need to change your lifestyle.
i totally agree! i'm studying to become a personal fitness trainer - this is where it's at - for sure. For years I stuck to only cardio - but then i realized HIIT and strength training are extremely effective and efficient. what happens when you build muscle is that even when you are resting, you're burning WAY more calories than when you do cardio alone.
i'm not saying 'don't do cardio' - it's great for your heart and lungs as well as mental focus on endurance. but do it together with strength training and add in HIIT one or two times a week and you will definitely see a difference.
also, eat natural foods in abundance. think of food like it has a grade. completely natural foods like apples and cucumbers get a A+. fast food gets an F. foods like natural peanut butter (no sugar added) get a B, because it's slightly processed, but still fairly good for you. Cereal with sugar on it gets a C. think about being in school and trying to raise your average by getting A's in the classes that are easy. In other words, eat a bunch of natural fruits and veggies, so that you can enjoy the occasional D or F food and not worry about failing overal
best of luck to you! your health is so important - everyone deserves to be healthy and strong
