    so has strongbox support completely died? what are alternatives?

    seems like im gonna need a new password protection script. strongbox has 100% shit the bed. sent them funds a week ago, no reply, no emails, unable to ring their phone.

    total disaster.

    any suggestions on other password programs?

    a business thread. believe it, or not.

              Proxypass from Proxigence is what nearly every other paysite uses. I have more than a hundred other paysite programs using it. Support is great, even better when bundled at MojoHost with a server.

                      Proxypass is pretty good. Once we got them and Mojo to dial in the settings that work best for our setup, its been quite good.

                              If you have multiple sites it's awesome.
                              Single signon so Mems don't have to keep re-entering their password.

                                  I think they've been on partial auto-pilot for some years now.

                                  Strongbox (and their other products?) seems to be run by Elias now whom was often slow to reply, but does know his stuff.

                                  It seems like Ray is shooting content nor or something. He posted here a few weeks ago asking how to best shoot cumshots.

                                  I think nowadays you could probably hire a competent programmer to just emulate Strongbox or any password-protection system making it totally customized for your sites. This is the route we took.

                                              Other strategies I've seen is sending an email confirmation code for each new IP on a membership account.

                                              I've also seen sites use Google's captcha where you have to choose which images contain a certain object (road signs, cars, etc). What a great way to get people to do free labeling for your machine learning algorithms. lol

                                                          I hate the new captcha's so much. I really don't think they're needed on one's login page--at least for the first attempt or two. Strongbox may be given some flack now, but one of the neat things they did (and I've no idea if they 'created' this, but...) was the 'afterfail' plugin. Basically, that annoying 'choose 4 faces' captcha would only show after a failed login.

                                                          We use something like this now after a few bad login attempts because really: most legit surfers probably have their passwords already saved. It's mainly the ones who are guessing usernames, brute forcing, etc. who will see those captchas this way. Keep the login experience as easy as possible for your real users and only start introducing 'inconveniences' when the authenticity of who's logging in becomes something you need to question.
