    With all the constant threads about Google has forsaken me -- no traffic ...

      What a dumb article. They didn't say if their search engine traffic went up or down from that "attack."

      If it went up or stayed the same, they could have just kept the links and continue on with business.

      Obviously, they're just fearmongering. How pathetic.

                  I block the ahrefs robot from my servers ironically.

                  The funny thing is they point to a free way to get that info in Google Webmaster Tools.

                          Well, anyways, I recommend people take preventative action against negative SEO. I know a few startups who've hired in-house anti-negative SEO specialists. Their job is to go through all links to the site every month and remove bad ones. Its a great proactive measure to ensure the company stays squeaky clean SEO wise.

                          You know what they say, an ounce of prevention goes a long ways.
