No not at home, I don't commute to work -- shopping, bank, other trips are in a wasteful large vehicle -- parking is easy here. Not when traveling in most US cities -- I rent an auto.

In Europe I have been pickpocketed in Rome and Greece using the Metro and buses -- I suppose large US cities are no better. Pay for a taxi or Uber and save the time and aggravation. Door -to- door service.

Some congested cities you have no choice -- to bad there is not any first-class service on the in-city bus or trains (elevated, underground, subway, Metro) -- keep the petty criminals away. I would gladly pay double the price to travel more comfortably and security -- cheaper than a car or taxi and faster sometimes.

I take them often, mostly for environmental reasons - every time I do not take a car, it saves those emissions to the planet as bus would run either way with or without me.
I really enjoy this aspect. Of course I do it only when not in the rush as it takes a bit longer than with a car. Added bonus - you can save time and money on parking (if you go to the part of town where parking is paid and/or difficult to find.

Cities are so dense here and close to one another, that it does not really make a difference.
In a 30 minutes ride you will go through an almost riviera like boulevard in Tel Aviv, up to a super Orthodox small city at the edge of the metropolitan.
When I lift my look above the smartphone, I feel like David Attenborough narrating my own ride to work...
