In Denmark alone we have 10 million pigs (Yes, twice as many as humans) .. Do you see any of them every? No.. imagine that... twice as many as humans, and still you never see a single one...

The main reason you cant have them run around outside is actually the "lokalplan(dont know the english word)" dont allow the farmer to have large amounts of pigs run around outside

two reasons:
1 - noice and smell(thank the citypeople)
2 - polution of the water (because of the amount of pigs in one place)

You can buy the socalled "free land" pig products in most stores, but they cost more. And guess what people buy when given the option - the cheap stuff.

But, YES, if there is a local butcher then you should buy from it. And there is a lot there could be done for the animals. But all it takes is people buying the ethical product.

Same goes for Wood, Tiles.. fuck.. most things even.

Im against the import/export of any live animal for the same reason, and I work actively against it in local politics. (only sucess so far was this http://www.gribskovsvin.dk/)

My reply to you was not that you are fighting a wrong battle, but you could at least warn people when you link to things like that.

We buy ALL our meat directly from farms with free living animals.. and we also only buy eggs from free living chickens.. I don't care if it's double the price, there's no way in hell I'm going to support the animal molesting going on in all the big factory farms..
