That vid is a drama-filled piece meant to confuse the facts.
Besides her outright denial of any association with or support of the LTTE, the fact that MIA uses tigers in her album art, posters and videos is negligible. Tigers represent freedom/independence and her childhood as a refugee shines through such symbolism innocently.
Additionally, her referral to her father as a "freedom fighter," doesn't link her to terrorism either. The group he belonged to, EROS (The Eelam Revolutionary Organisation of Students): 1. was focused on creating an independent Tamil state within Sri Lanka, 2. hasn't been active for over a decade and 3. is a completely separate group from the LTTE. Not to mention the fact that MIA's father has represented both sides (Tamil/Sinhalese) on various issues. So much for the "terrorism" link.

Why do you think there is so much nazi punk core out there? Music is HEAVILY used to recruit people into political activism. Nazi punk music blatantly sings against jews, blacks, homos etc... and there are countless forms of music that do it.
This is not new. And groups tied to bands have done killings and lots of nefarious things around the globe... all done behind the guise of music.

Get it right. MIA has shown NO active support for LTTE, instead she has shown support for EROS - the organization that her father was a member of. EROS split and became a political organization, thereby taking a completely different direction than LTTE, when members of it decided to get militant and violent as LTTE did.
Her father, contrary to internet rumors that were probably founded by reactive persons such as yourself, actively represented BOTH sides of the equation. He was NOT a terrorist.
Just in case you didn't understand that...Neither MIA or her father is affiliated with LTTE.
Can you connect those dots? Do you understand that my reason for posting that article was because the LTTE is considered on its death throes by the FBI and the Sri Lankan army and not an attempt to make them seem innocent?
I hate having to explain myself because of people who have no true comprehension of the facts and just want to believe and spout garbage about whatever they want to.
