I sleep with my windows open. My master bedroom pretty much spans the width of the house so I have windows open on the back of my house and both sides. I hear everything at night. If I shot at everything that went "bump" in the night I would have killed three of my neighbor's dogs and had the police at my house pretty much every night since I moved here.
He was in no danger and under no threat. He shot two people for no reason.
