    Wtf happened to computers having com ports?

    I can't find a com port anywhere on my new HP, I need that fucking com port damnit! what the hell can i do here? is there like a USB to com adapter or something?

      hold windows key, press 'pause' butting, go to hardware tab, device manager -> PORTS

          yeah you can get an adapter, i had to get one a few days ago from future shop for $60

              $60 fucking bucks? i might as well just start paying for my satellite! . I need a com port so i can plug into my coolsat receiver, and this shit i weak, guess i'm heading over to a friends place tonight to doctor up my box.

                      it's not that i can't afford satellite, i just would rather buy beer, and i kind of like fooling around with different receivers. can't wait till someone breaks the new nagra3 encryptiont hat bev is switching over to. dishnetwork is all i got left, and surely they're be fixing their shit soon enough...

                      i wish dtv was still doable, direct was sick....

                                      they'll more than likely be jumping over to the new nagra3 encryption soon too. but it's only a matter of time i guess. i can still pick up nimiq with a strong signal, so the hardware is all still sound, it's just gonna be a waiting game until someone witht he skill breaks the encryption...

                                              You can buy USB-serial adapters on ebay for $10

                                              Printer ports have also disappeared from laptops and are harder to find on new desktop mainboards...

                                                  It was a lot of fun back in the day fucking with the cards. I had a subscription anyways, but I would swap the cards out if there was stuff on ppv I wanted to watch lol. Got a good 1.5 years or so for free muah.
