I know I made a lot of people wonder when I took the job, but he made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I could work remotely.
Sadly we parted ways after only 1 week with the company.
He is going to say that I brought his server down and might even say it was malicious but I just wanted to set the story straight right here in public and let you all decide.
I was hired last week to bring in traffic. I guess he liked my SEO resume and also enjoyed my numbers in being able to pull in quality, converting traffic from multiple sources.
Well, the problems started when I got #1 in MSN, Yahoo and Google for 80% of the search terms he wanted and I made some traffic deals with certain industry peeps that also know traffic. He called me last night saying I was DDOS'ing the server and what the fuck was this all about. I informed him that I was NOT performing DDOS, I was providing him with the traffic he asked for.
Jon, you told me your hosting included unlimited bandwidth and I provided almost unlimited traffic to your sites. It isn't my fault your hosting sucks!
Anyway, I guess his host told him he would need to upgrade to a dedicated box because the other users on his virtual server were complaining about slow load times or no loading at all during peak periods. Jon didn't want to pay the upgrade fees and I even offered to pay but he said he'd see me in court and forwarded the evidence of the (perceived) DDOS attack to his attorney and informed me that he would be pressing charges.
So there you have it. Now you all can make an informed decision before this guy comes in here trash talking me.
