I do. It's been very helpful: makes me a lot calmer, focused, and it's even easier for me to fall asleep. I metabolize it abnormally quickly, so I have to take low doses more frequently, but I still love it... it's been a big help (when I'm not taking it, my ADD is so bad that I can't even remember what I've just said in a verbal conversation). I personally have experienced no side effects.

It does, yes.
When you say you metabolize it abnormally quickly, how quickly, and how do you know? Just by not feeling it anymore?
I am nearly toward the end of my first month's script of it, and I feel nothing different. I am not saying there has been no improvement, but very little. Maybe an hour or so each day.~

I would burn through it within an hour or so, and get that "crash" where you feel really tired. I tend to metabolize all drugs quickly, so my doctor and I figured out that the solution was to either go with the extended release (which is expensive as fuck due to lack of a generic version) or just take the lowest dose possible more frequently. That worked, so I stuck with it.
If you don't feel any difference, it might not be the right treatment for you. Adderall is not like an antidepressant where you have to continue use for weeks before you feel results - it should be immediately apparent if it's going to help (thus why some people abuse it for energy or to help them study for an exam or just to get high, because it can be taken at random for the same effect without having to build up in your system).
Have you tried any other drugs? You should ask your doctor and see if he'll try putting you on either a different dosage/extended release or a different drug entirely.

I've tried all the drugs in the world, I think, both legal and not.
I wouldn't say that I can't tell any difference, just very little. I think I am on the lowest dosage possible though, as that is how my doc wanted to start out...just 5mg a day. Increasing that will be my first request when I call in for a refill.
But the quick metabolizing...I wondered about that, for an unrelated reason, but I can tell you that whatever I do feel is gone very quickly.

never, people like Paris Hilton and Bam Margera are heavy Adderall users/addicts, if that stuff makes you anything like those two people, or those are the types prescribed the shit, I would stay clear of it,... it must not be as good as the other *fun* things on the market ;)Last edited by Fletch XXX; 01-13-2009, 09:19 AM.

You can usually tell the difference between recreational and prescription users of Adderall pretty simply. If you need it for genuine ADD, it will make you more calm and centered, like how I described earlier. If you're just taking it for fun and don't actually have the chemical imbalance for it to correct, it just makes you hyperactive and annoying, like the Viva La Bam crew, since it is just amphetamine salts.Give me money & buy my links here, damn it!Comment

I understand what you are saying, however, I am sure they have prescriptions and arent just buying off the street ;)
Ive known many drug users and know people who take/took Adderall, they are annoying as you say, but I am cetain that its recreational on their part though.
i dont have add so i dont know what itsd like.

My former boss was on adderall and when he took it right he was a completely different person. miss a dosage though and the lows get lower and the highs get higher.Comment

Yeah, I said 'prescription' for lack of a better term, I guess... I meant people who actually need it, but it seems you got what I meant anyhow =)
I used to have to hide my Adderall when I lived in a campus party house. It was really annoying, because I had to pay for it (and even as a generic, it's expensive) and *needed* it to be able to do well in school and at work, but I caught a few people in my bedroom looking for it just because they wanted to snort it or something. I've never been one to do drugs recreationally (I assume this comes from having both parents work in the medical/drug testing field and working in pharmacy myself, I just know the dangers too well and am a cautious person at the core anyhow) but shit like that always made me hate on people who took amphetamines for fun.Give me money & buy my links here, damn it!Comment

I let my roommate at the time then girlfriend stay at my house with her 4 kids. I couldn't believe how much this girl could get done in one day with working, driving her kids all over the place and then would come back to the house and go on a cleaning spree as payment for staying there. I soon found out not only did she have a prescription for Adderall for herself she was taking her 13 year old daughters (stronger) prescription also. On top of it when I was leaving to go to the doctor's one day she asked me if I could tell my doctor that I was having trouble concentrating at work and staying focused hoping that he would prescribe it for me. I told her no and she got all bent. It was only half way through the month and she had already gone through 2 prescriptions of it. When I pointed that out to her she informed me that she hadn't taken all of it, she had sold some, like that made it okay. I told her right then and there that she had to find a new place to stay.ICQ# 419 775 271
