You are talking about more than doubling the federal budget, more than doubling everybody's taxes.
Bernie wanted to tax wealth at 90% to pay for it but that would only trigger a wealth exodus from the US.

The only way we will be able to pay for a singer payer system is to either raise taxes or cut spending to major things like the military. Of course, we could do some of both.
