He is a businessman. He can not lose edge of manufacturing for more if all of his competition manufactures for less.
His point is - make it harder/more expensive to manufacture in China for ALL, making incentives for ALL to manufacture in America etc.
Are you really suggesting he should just suicide his biz by losing to all of his competitors?
He can dislike US companies making stuff in China AND make things in China himself (out of mentioned necessity because otherwise it would be losing an edge to all your competition) AT THE SAME TIME.
He wants that all companies made it in US, not that he would make his stuff in US while competitors make in China.
Random example: a webmaster/producer can dislike tubes AND put up his own vids on tubes AT THE SAME TIME.
You would not laugh at him for that, would you?
He simply must put his videos not to lose to competition. And at the same time he could wish the tubes did not exist. The point is - not exist to everyone, not that he would simply not put his videos on said tubes.
Is that really so difficult to grasp?

I have seen these moves in many 3rd world countries. Take Argentina for example, same family dynamic and level of nepotism and corruption.
Trump just makes it look slightly more "legitimate" since he is so familiar and part of American pop culture but come on...he's playing the country and no one is doing anything about it except talk which as everyone including Trump knows - Is Cheap.
