    5 movies in 5 days. Can it be done?

    With all the shit I have to do in a day (GFY being a huge time waster) I need to also edit 5 full DVD's in 5 days.

    From start to finish, digitizing all footage, color correcting, cutting trailers, cutting scenes, which includes cutting teases to music and adding titles, cutting credits and BTS, and then rendering for DVCAM output.

    5 days. 5 full movies. It usually takes me 3-5 days because of the other tasks I do as well as waiting for elements. Like waiting for music, waiting for footage, sleeping, eating... the occasional chat with the family, etc...

    Gonna be a rough next 5 days. I wish I were in Vegas.

    Thinking of broadcasting it thru iChat if anyone is interested. (I'm totally addicted to that shit) It'll be over my shoulder so you won't be able to jack the clients footage, but you can see me working.. YAY!!! Fun.

    Could be a good learning experience for anyone interested in learning Sony Vegas. (fuck off, I know I talk a lot of shit about it, but nothing can cut as fast as Vegas (not your beloved FCP, or your beloved Premiere, or even AVID (the mother of all editors) can cut as fast as Vegas)

                                                                          Dude, go for it! If you're good with digital and have a nice monster rendering machine ... and have a cookie-cutter method, I say it's a done deal. Just be careful about all the caffeine ... and don't do anything harder.

                                                                          I remember editing back in the TV news days (3/4" and betacam). We would budget a minute for every second of finished piece... so for a minute piece you could usually count on taking an hour. I was also a beta tester in the early Avid days and worked for Tektronix when we patented syncing video edit points with the text in a news script.

                                                                                                          There is a about 12 terabytes of storage connected to just 2 computers in this office. Most of them are loaded with client projects. HD is a FUCKING pain in the ass.
