Israel didn't create Israel - the world and the League of Nations created Israel. If you think its an illegal occupation, then you're on the opposite side of the world who created Israel, which doesn't mean you are right or wrong, but I want to remind you, it was the world who created Israel.

There's been many injustices in the history of the world. There's been many land redistributions in the history of time that were wrong. Think of any war. Think of the US & Mexico. At some point, the hatchet has to be buried, you have to accept reality for what it is and play the hand you are dealt, in order to grow and move forward. We all do this on some kind of personal level - some people are born into more fortunate/unfortunate situations - you can cry about it and how unfair the world is, or accept that sometimes things are unfair and move forward. Look at any 2 countries involved in any major conflict, at some point, each side gets over it in order to move on. There's been many situations worst than land re-distributions - how about mass genocide where people have gotten over it, however they have not forgotten, but they still end up getting along in soem kind of peaceful fashion. How about slavery in the US? We just elected an African-American president.

This is the one area of the world I can think of, where they just can't get over it, or not enough time has passed. In Israel/Gaza, one side is willing to work with the other, in fact Israel removed their own people from the Gaza strip a few years ago. For the other side, due to religious extremism and deep-embedded hate, nothing except extermination of the other side is enough. Not only that, its turned into terroristic acts, where they specifically target civilians (which is what they say the other side does, however evidence suggest otherwise), and also they hide behind their own schools, mosques, and the civilian population, so when Israel reacts, it creates easy propaganda for them. These are non-justified acts, I don't care wtf has happened. The palestinian people need to cleanse themselves of Hamas. Real strides were being made with Abbas and the PLO. When they elected a terrorist organization to rule them, they took a huge step backward, and you know what - they simply don't care. It's self-destructive if you will, as is Fidel Castro in Cuba, Kim Jong-il in North Korea, and other leaders who don't act in the best interests of the population they rule.

People forget, at any time this could stop. Hamas broke the cease-fire, not Israel. They've said they will stop so long as Hamas agrees to a real cease-fire once again, which they refuse to do. You say Hamas fights, well so does Israel, don't blame Israel because they are 100x more powerful and will win with their eyes closed in a matter of days/weeks. Also, the blockades you speak about, are in place as a means to punish them for electing an internationally-recognized terrorist group to lead them. The solution is very simple for Palestinians, if they want to move forward and see a higher quality of life - get rid of Hamas. Hamas didn't care when they took the Gaza strip by military force from the PLO a few years ago... Hamas alone, is the root of their problems, the problem is, they blame Israel, and not Hamas.

Looking at the past will simply breed more violence. They need to look to the future in order to improve their situation. It's a tough pill to swallow, and you know what, I won't argue with it that it's not fair and easier said than done, but that, in itself, is the reality of the situation. Israel isn't going anywhere, and you can't change history.
