So many bad things have happened recently, make it impossible to really enjoy Christmas. Anyone else in the same boat this year?

I do not know about 'hate' but I do not like the holidays and haven't since my teens.
Over the years the reasons have changed. My current one, and it's been solid for the past decade is..
Christmas, and the holidays from Thanksgiving through Jan 1st fuck up my sales, and business. The business hours for various companies, banks, etc get fucked and their hours. People always hurting for cash, so you have to wait 'til Jan to close deals. People boo fucking hooing about their gifts and greed.

yeah, "hate" is too strong a word, but I really don't like how it fucks up things with stores and restaurants being closed

As said, hate is too strong a word - but I've definitely lost the enthusiasm for Christmas these days.
Too commercial. Too much hustle and bustle to get things done in a short time (especially workin' two jobs).
It was better when the kids were younger - at least it was fun watching them enjoy it. But since then, the novelty's worn off.Comment

I have a fucked up family and christmas has always represented stress and unhappiness for me... Ever since I started spending it alone a few years ago I've enjoyed it a lot more.
I'm in Vegas for christmas this year and so far it's been great

it is pretty insane how the malls become herds of sheep with the parking lots jammed to the brim and traffic jams for a block

Christmas is really for the kids. Especially since they just inherited the biggest debt in human history

I'm sorry you and a shit load of people are having hard times right now. Some people don't even have their kids at home. You're not the only one dude.

I hate christmas, I hate people who are jolly and cheerful and in the "christmas spirit", it just makes me want to puke. I really freakin hate it.. "oooh we are so happy and normal. lets all spend time with the family, lets all decorate the tree... its the season for giving!"
