GOOGLE and YAHOO Bot and SEO tricks THREAD

So I am slowly learning what SEO, PR and Bots really are, and how they work. I read on some boards that it could take up to 3 months for them to raise your PR but I was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes for a new site to get listed? How often do these bots come around? Whats your PR and how does it really work?

Also What are the best ways to get high ranked? What I have read says that the more links in from high PR sites the higher your ranking will go. I also read that even if you have links to higher PR site going to them but them not coming to you helps?

Also how does the system work if you build a huge site, lets say a giant tube or something bigger than the big boys tubes and the bot comes to your site for the first time. Do you get a higher ranking right out the door and a better listing?

Post what you know here even if you don't know shit just to get some answers and lets make this thread 100000000000 pages long and maybe we will figure out how to get to the top

Yahoo is easier to get higher PR. there are certain ways to promote your sites through yahoo that get google to put your PR up because they don't want to lose out to there rivals.

Depends on your experience, existing sites, whatever. Speed up the process by using Google Analytics, and listing new sites there. It will then prompt the spider.

I think on some yahoo (adsense type programs) a banner click is about 0.01c-0.20c per click that is very low compared to google!

If i find the site again I will post it for you. dont sign up! whatever you it gives away enough in the pitch to make sense and give you some inside help.

depends what you consider a better listing, you MIGHT get a good rank quick, but if you try too quick put your shorts on and grab your shovel, youll be diggin your way out for a while.

there are many many factors to getting good ranks and many more to keeping the ranks. One slip could land ya in the shiter.

i am adding tons of videos into this new tube site and wondering how much of a difference its going to make? I have got over 6000 videos in it in the last couple days and adding a bunch more. From what I see no one knows how to get or not get traffic with tubes?

Also do html pages get better ranking than php?

Man, 6000 tube site is a tiny tube site, the big boys have 60 000 + pages/movies, I dropped 4-5 tubes with all the hosted flvs I could find at that point, I think 6000 entries around then, Google gave me about 30-50 hits right away, that's about all the love you'd get if you do nothing else (and not even that is guaranteed).

yes, big site really works, if you can create 50 000 entries site you'll get some google love (on some pages I get up to 300-500 hits from Google) only with a few links from your sites but then again you never know how long and if that willl last. Also I create huge sites only on old domains, I'm not even sure if it makes any difference at all but havign a brand new domain regged and dropping a site that grows from 0 to 50000 pages in two days is something I wouldn't do.

If you want to make sure that your site will be loved by Google there's only one way - unique aontent, must really appeal to people - it it does they'll start liking to your site in a "nomral" way in blog posts, forums etc instead of the side links we all used to swap, with patience and perseverance it'll build up ...... may be.
