and they autorenew you for 12 months
and you have to give 45 days notice before the end of your previous term to stop the auto renew
seriously fucked up contract, but you agreed to pay them for the full year if you cancel anytime within that 45 days of that year.

assuming that you setup the contract in january 1
it all comes down to exactly what day in november did you cancel
after the 15 you missed the 45 day notification date and your hosting contract auto renewed and you own them a full years hosting fees plus the two months previous
before the 15th you got under the 45 day autorenewal , and you only owe them the two months that are covered by the 45 days notice.
that of course if you can prove you sent them written notice. and weather email constitutes written notice.

BP I just sent you an icq, I was having problems with them too, they have a very difficult time reading and understanding English, we were in shitty situation and trying to deal with it, I would ask questions, or make statements but they'd basically say "Fuck you, pay me!" in a nice way without addressing any questions/concerns
Anywayys, I was with them, locked into their stupid contract also, and they were SHIT host since day 1 when I signed on with them, they made a LOT of false promises
I can support you if possible in ANY possible way about this, I even contacted the BBB in case they really expected me to pay them their bogus "termination fees", and hosting bills for shitty servicesIf you think tough men are dangerous, wait until you see what weak men are capable of.

I signed the contract on Oct 22, 2004.
Canceled in November.
They kept billing me for that month, the next and the next few after I canceled.

Its been over a year now. One year of dealing with the bullshit.
Now I have some local attorney trying to serve me to take me to court.
Why would they want to take it this far is beyond me.
I even wrote them trying to settle. Hell Ill pay to get this over with. But im not paying the shit termination fee. Like I said it was bad enough I was paying $696.00 for 10mpbs a shit P4 Server.
Ill pay two out of the four months they are trying to shake me for after I canceled. Thats it. Hell im even willing to pay up to four.
But they want more. Much more.

3 years ago my friend "The Fly" was banned for speaking out about this company.
I didnt back him... Let him get banned from GFY. Granted the company was then owned by Ray and Lensman and I never had issue with them. I considered Lensman a friend. Truthfully I did. Now he may have never seen me as that but I did...
But now looking at this contract and if it is indeed legit and its them that got me in this shit, the old Jupiter and not this new Navisite with this SHIT contract then fuck. Im not sure what to say. Other than im disapointed.
I made a mistake in chosing my friends. I made a mistake not listening to others and The Fly and sticking by this company as they banned anyone who spoke out against them. I turned the other cheek and never gave any of these complaints a second thought. As many of you may being towards me right now.
I always had the highest respect for Both Ray and Lensman as well as all the Jupiter Crew. But im starting to question all that now if this contract is indeed legit and it was they that got me into this.
I hate to whine and bitch but I feel betrayed.

The letter you got would be from a collection attorney. They could possibly put a lien against your home or something like that. You need to immediately demand, IN WRITING, proof that you owe this debt to them. They may not still have the contract. If they can't provide proof then they can get fucked. Do not talk to them on the phone. Don't use email. Do it the old fashioned way and document everything. I would also kill this thread since you basically admit to owing them money and hope they didn't see it...

I canceled the hosting. Left...
They tried billing me month after month after month after month after I left and told them multiple times I was gone and to stop.

Yes, they sometimes file lawsuits for large amounts of money like this. You need to send them a letter telling them to prove you have this debt. You can probably find an example letter online somewhere and just fill in the blanks. Seriously though... kill this thread

You, I believe, own you sites via registrars and solely getting possibly fucked by a hosting company... juniper. i read your documents and there is no way a judge will let that fly. Many states small claims are 10k or less... some 3k... either way... it is not worth their time.
I assume the entity does not exist any longer because you could also file complaints with the BBB.
Keep posting things like this and it will all work out... remember... don't pay a dime and it's still yoursComment

I honestly wouldn't worry. They are not going to find an attorney in your area and file suit against you over that amount and with no case. Tell the collection agency to stop contacting you. They are required by law to stop all correspondence.
It's just a desperate attempt by a company to hopefully nab a few bucks. Companies like this are usually in financial trouble. I would be surprised if they weren't out of business next year.Comment
