He and the entire state Senate spent our money like it was going out of style and added 40% to the state budget but then failed to reduce the expenses when the tech bubble burst and the market crashed. I think Davis and the entire state government should be recalled!
They should be paid based on how low state taxes are and how much money the state makes at years end. If they make a profit for the state they get paid more if they lose the state money they work for nothing! This state is the 5th largest economy in the world. With more resources than anywhere in the world, agriculture, high tech, Tv and Movies, and some of the greatest real estate and best climate in the world. If you can't turn a profit for a state like this you should get a different line of work. And there's no fuckin way we should have the 50th worst education system in the country.
Later Davis your history pal!

Damn do people even understand how spending in California works? Do people know that nearly 90% of the states budget is already pre-spent and that the Govenor has almost zero control of that 90%.
So Davis gets funky numbers from the budget department, after he is in office he gets the real numbers (adjusted). Deficiet is a hell of a lot larger than what was initially reported to him. In his short time as the guy in charge he turned a negative 38+ billion dollar deficiet into a negative 8 billion dollar one. Yup he sure is not doing his job.
Nobody takes into account the tech bubble bursting and the effect of exspected taxes. The energy crisis that Davis pled to the Feds to step in and help out which they refused only latter to find out it was Enron and a bunch of Texas companies fucking the state that are Bush backers.
Davis is also getting flack for a low education rating, yet nobody mentions he is not following the Bush backed "leave no child behind" bill. This bill that actually encourages schools to force out the dumb kids to raise the states test scores in order to recieve cash from the Government. The state of Texas (while Bush was in office as Gov.) claimed a 1.5% drop out rate, showing the public Bush understood education, yet when the books became open that number went upwards of 40%. They just pushed the stupid kids into a GED program or "transfered" them.
Yup he is doing a super bad job.
What needs to be addressed and removed from the California constitution is this recall ability. If Davis keeps his job, or if Arnold, Flynt, or whomever wins. You can be assured there will be yet another recall and another and another. California will just be constant campaigning.
Why in the hell is it right to have less people than those who actually voted in the real election be able to throw out those who did go and vote during the actual election?
