With all due respect, I think you're missing my point. If getting "the real story" meant having to read news sources that read like they were written for 14 year olds sitting in their mom's basement hopped up on Adderall, I'd rather not get any news at all.
I don't see value in getting tangled up in never-ending conspiracy theories. Do I think there is foul play behind closed doors involving special interests? Absolutely. Do I think it is a wise use of my time to actively "search for the truth"? I most certainly don't.
Worry about the well-being of your inner circle first and keep widening that circle...and when you've done a good job at that you can start worrying about the rest of world.
