True. But the MSM does not see it that way. They see these individuals as a threat; they see the internet as a threat.
Old media (primarily the ones launching these attacks and fabricating story-lines), who were always the gatekeepers of (dis)information for centuries, have been threatened by the open nature of the internet, along with advancements in technology that allows virtually anyone to gather a following and compete them with them.
Just read this article.. The MSM has been sitting on this for quite awhile, and 4chan knew of it before it happened.
