    Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

                Just a small correction - there are currently 99 operating plants

                And there are currently 24 new ones either being built or in the planning stages - 4 should come online in the very near future

                And the parts come from China, as well as many other countries - and there is nothing secret about their construction - other than the security and cybersecurity details

                                Yes that is what I figured. Simulators are ok but something about looking right into or right at the core would be cool. Scary as hell for me, but cool anyway. I don't know why. Color me geek.

I was a sonar Tech, but as you know, everyone had to know how to throw the switch in engineering. Did you ever meet Rickover? He took a little ride on our boat, interesting person.

                                                                                                                            I would like to know more about the energy output and economics of a setup like this. This one reflects sunlight to a boiler to generate steam, turn generators and provide electricity. But regular electric panels convert sunlight to electricity directly. Are they somehow less efficient? If they could use the direct sunlight-to-electricity panels they would save all those birds.

Evidently the output the way they're doing it now must be most efficient compared to energy directly from the panels? The article simplifies how enegy is really created, it's not just heating up water to steam. I saw a special on this on Discovery channel and it's a special heavy thick solution that's almost a solid that's heated up and it becomes more fluid and superheats water to steam, this is how it's able to still generate electricity through the night, the thick solution retains massive heat like a thermos
