                                                      I am here because GFY represents the webmasters, affiliates, and behind the scenes folks that I can network with in order to get better at promoting myself and converting. I am hoping that at some point this will happen. In the meantime, it's a place where I can see what's going on with other solo girls, the people who support them, the current technology used to push the sites/traffic/etc. The reason I'm here is for business and business alone...but it's like being in the ocean...no matter what you TRY to do, you are at the mercy of the endless swell of current change, bad weather, and of course the predators that lurk just below the surface....the only thing to do is hope you aren't above them when they decide to come up and feed...or become a predator yourself.xxx
                                                      Still not where I should have been by now...time to take matters into my own hands...

                                                                                      I do sometimes go into long periods of only lurking for biz info and usually end up getting more work don't.

                                                                                              Definitely a place to use business as an excuse to waste time being a total asshole without feeling guilty about it. Only sometimes I do (feel guilty about it).

                                                                                              I do feel like it's a good place to get information, though, and see what other people's standards and expectations are with content, payouts, ethics, etc. In some ways all of the fucked up shit helps me clarify my own values and define what makes me and our business "special"/different than the stereotypes. It also provides inspiration for blogging and stuff.

                                                                                              And sometimes I see nice things happen on GFY and they feel *especially* nice/lovely because they're contrasted with so much toxic bullshit.
