NEW YORK (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Almost 500 people were arrested in a crackdown on human trafficking in California, police said on Wednesday, in raids that also led to the rescue of more than 50 victims, including children.
Police said they had rescued 28 children, some of whom had been reported missing, and also 27 adults who had been coerced into prostitution.
86% were non sex crimes

So this wasnt a pedophile ring bust - it was human trafficking - which I guess only covered a sting op - the other 38,000 people involved in Calif trafficking are still free to carry on
The real pedophile ring busts don't usually get covered in the news or once they come out they get covered up pretty quickly when it's discovered that British Royals or some other important person are involved.
