    Sunday is my 12 year Net Birthday. When is yours?

    I registered my first domain "prehensile.com" 12 years ago this Sunday. When I think of all the great names that were available when I grabbed PREHENSILE, I want to staple my hand to my forehead. Doh!

    I still have the domain, though I don't update it any more. It was a weekly humor site. I even made tons of porn jokes looong before I did any porn work. Kinda funny to see me make jokes about directing porn movies or being a stunt cock back when that was a ludicrous idea to me.

    The site got me sued by Fruit of the Loom, featured in Wired, acquainted with all sorts of early web personalities, and got me on the web conference speaking circuit for a while. Good times.

    I used to do weekly humor "tales" like:
    "Smack, Crackhead, Pot"

At the office we experimented with this new thing where we could "talk over the net" from office to office but via other servers "out there" - Of course later we realized that it was the internet. It worked. We talked to each other via ancient microphones and speakers over the internet. Fun times.

Sadly I can only find a handful of usenet articles I've posted from the 1980s in the Google Groups database.

                                                                                                                                  I have no idea exact date, but it would be in 97, or late 96 possibly.

                                                                                                                                  My other regret is that I worked for a net company and wasn't really doing my own sites yet, but I did learn things as an employee that help me today.
