    Sometimes I just can't believe it when I see sponsors I use pulling shady shit

    Seriously, its really depressing.

    And I just had some long ass shit typed out here and snipped it, because its not worth getting into.

    But when you have a $1.49 prechecked xsale that only says "This is a One Time Purchase and Does NOT Renew Automatically." and then a link to Terms and Conditions that seem to say otherwise, I can only assume they are tricking the surfer. Nothing about a trial, and it only tells you its actually a 2 day membership in the T/C.

    I know a lot of guys just suck it up on those charges, and the fact is many are too ashamed and embarrassed to chargeback and deal with their banks. So it does equal profit, but its such a shame these companies with millions of dollars in content and honest webmasters are only out to fuck people over when it doesn't have to be that way.

    I'm just glad I have been preparing my network for years to get away from this shady shit.

    I also hope visa shoves a hot iron up their asses one day. oops did I just say that.

    and I am most definitely wasting my time by even posting this, but what the hell.

          and the sad face and emo thread title have to do with the fact that I used to do so well with this one sponsor, for yeeeaars. I stopped even looking at the stats too much because they just went to shit, even when SE traffic has increased, and then I spend a couple minutes looking at the join action and duh, time to move on I guess...

          Its taking me forever to comb through the network.

          When my solid sponsors pop sales like clockwork off the same traffic its not rocket science to me. I don't have time to monitor everyone's join pages and when they make changes.

          They can run their business, I'll run mine. Far away from their shady tricks!

              Cherry, it sure is sad when a long-trusted sponsor program goes sour. And I purely hate hate hate the old "go back and pull all the links" projects.

              I feel your pain, I purely do.

              And just for the record, I'm bummed by the recent explosion in surfer-abuse that seems to have swept the industry. For years I told people "Yeah, they used to pound your credit card, but then there was a backlash, and it's getting a lot more rare." Which, I'd say, was true until about six months ago.

                  thanks for the nice post Forkbeard.

                  When they put out brand new sites with high quality content, you'd really think they were taking their program in the right direction. Then they pull some shady billing crap. It just doesn't make sense to me, but that is what money does to people.

                  oh well.
