We were friends but there were rules.

I actually had a friend that was one of the first people to contract AIDS. This was back in the early 80's when it first reared its ugly head. And yes, he was gay. And no, we never fooled around. I wonder what ever happened to him? Years later I had a friend who was a chick who had it. She got it from straight sex. She was only 25. Lost contact with her too.Comment

yes, he was the flamboyant hairdresser in our town. I was his hair model for a couple of years.. we did some of the big hair shows in Philadelphia. That was 1982-1984. He passed away in 86..from AIDS..

I dont know anyone but when it first started hitting the news about the people that have gotten it from blood transfusions we had some scary moments being my dad had quite a few surgeries where he had gotten blood a few years before that.
Thank god he didnt contract it though he ended up dying of cancer. It was spread all through him.ICQ# 419 775 271

Used to, he died long ago.
Back in the mid 80's when I worked in a local hospital as a health care worker I had occasion to look after Manitoba's first AIDS case ever. Just for a few night shifts to fill in for that ward's regular staffer, but no one including medical staff really knew much about the disease. I remember all the nurses holding hands and having prayer sessions because of it, because the staff was going to look after the guy no matter what, but they were praying for protection just in case.
