    Times are changing.

No doubt one may quote history to support any cause, as the devil quotes scripture.

Makes me ashamed to be from Washington. Who cares if they don't believe in any higher power or whatever. The nativity scene is based on a STORY, whether it be true or not doesn't matter. It's a SYMBOL that connects to a story about Christmas.

Jeezus, people always gotta shove their beliefs down other peoples throats one way or another. I don't get why they gotta be so extreme about it and negative.

I fucking love it. It's about time people learn the truth about Christmas. Maybe they can do it for Easter as well.

        based on a true story?

        you gotta be kidding me.

and btw using public funds to promote the "nativity story" is in fact pushing YOUR beliefs on others.

I think it's great. Both sides should have their say, or none at all.

She said "based on a story, whether it be true or not doesn't matter"... she didn't say it was true.

Using public funds to push beliefs happens every day in every facet of life. Whether they be religious, political, scientific... it's all public funds pushing somebody's beliefs.

                    I can read Sly.

"Based on a true story" sounds even more insane than believing its a true story to begin with. So if jesus wasn;t the "true messiah" of the story, who was?

I didn't say it was a true story. A nativity scene is a symbol of a story we all know. It's traditional just like stories of Santa or the friggin easter bunny. My only point is that the stupid guy and his big ugly sign is just negative. "There is no god" etc etc... how does he know? He's just an attention whore.

Nor did I say you did.

I was laughing at the irony of "based on a true story." And your comment about "shoving your beliefs down others"

Religious freedom is always a popular "right" until you are an Atheist, then you guys want to remove that same privilege.

Bingo. Its usually the church that tries to bash everyone elses beliefs and supress information for their benefit. Weather they are right or not is not the issue. The issue is being able to believe what you want without having the goverment ram it down our mouths as fact. There are more facts about dinasaurs than there are about anything written in the bible, so it makes me laugh when people speak about it with such knowing conviction.

Why does it have to be white baby Jesus?

The Church is all about freedom of choice and allows any religion to exist. They also love it when people question their faith. So I don't know what you are talking about.

Awesome -- I am proud of my state for representing a diversity of cherished beliefs and making it less of an endorsement, and more of a display.

Fuck King5 with their editorialized, biased bullshit, calling the atheist display "bizarre". Like everything about the Nativity scene isn't totally fucking bizarre. And I say that as someone who loves the bullshit CHRISTmas story/myths/legends.

Yeah, thats exactly what I hear from people like Falwell. Lol

This is a good thing. Religion is one of the most destructive forces on this planet and has claimed more lives than any war put together.

Fact: Almost all the world religions were formed by force and spread by violence and that includes christianity.

"The towers are gone now, reduced to bloody rubble, along with all hopes for Peace in Our Time, in the United States or any other country. Make no mistake about it: We are At War now -- with somebody -- and we will stay At War with that mysterious Enemy for the rest of our lives." H.S.T. 09/12/01

                                                "If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being."

Yea. But he's dead. So who cares. No one will ever see or hear from him again. His words will echo even into the future when they are proven to be idiotic.

In the end we are all dead and nothing we say or do matters. Christians just hate the idea that their existence is random and useless.
