Really sorry to hear about that Tony. I bet he was a great guy.
At least you were with him to the very end. It's only a wee bit of comfort to you, but it is something you will remember, and be glad of in the years to come.
RIP to pops...

Wow! May you have strength and be able to enjoy some good memories today with your family and be at peace for the fact he is no longer in pain.
My sincerest condolances for your tremendous loss.
Between this thread and Hal's video, I decided to go to dinner with my family when I was just going to stay here in bed. You both truly inspired me to pick up and go forward.
Have the best Thanksgiving that you possibly can and know people out there are praying for you...
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why they left this earth so soon, or why they left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that they died, but that they lived. And that their life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your father.
My sincerest condolences. A loss like that - especially at this time of year hits hard. At least you had the opportunity to know it was coming, the chance to say what you needed to say, and at the end, face it with him. That is definitely something to be thankful for.
My condolences go out to you Tony and your family, You are a sincere and honest guy which im sure you got from your dad so you will allways have a part of him with you. In a way I guess at least the pain your dad was going through has ended. I know how hard it is to lose a loved one cause I have been there myself, may your dad rest in peace.
Your father was lucky to have someone like you to see him through his illness. He is no longer in pain now. Be thankful of the time you had together. We are all just visitors here.
Tony, I am very sorry to hear this terrible news.
I don't know you off the boards but you seem like a great person and it sounds like your father was a great person as well.
My thoughts are with you.
On a side note, and sorry if this question seems inappropriate, was he a smoker?
Very sorry to hear that Tony He went in peace and you were by his side, but as you said, it's still a loss and some losses just don't ever fade away. Know that now he's no longer sick or in pain.
