It is always sad to see a young life destroyed. It is obviously incredibly painful for the people who loved him. Having said that I cannot see how it can blamed on people posting comments on a chat forum. People need to be held responsible for their actions. It is not the responsibility of forum posters to make sure they don't hurt someone's feels who might be sensitive. The idea that someone could go to jail for this is absurd.
I will say if the person had been a child then I would feel differently. The case where the young girl killed herself because of sustained harassment from an adult on Myspace made me feel that jail time was definitely in order. Actually I'm pretty sure Kurt Cobain suffered from clinical depression. It's pretty apparent he suffered from something just by listening to his music and combining it with the way he lived his life.
I don't think Kurt Cobain wanted anyone to cry for him, just to appreciate his art. Most people never achieve that level of art in their entire lives in any field. Seriously most artistic potential turns into crappy technicians craftsmanship similiar to what we do. Must of us probably wanted to be actors or directors or whatever.
Anyway, I don't want to sound like a complete moron, but if I could create the level of art Kurt Cobain created in any field, I'd be happy, but then again I didn't suffer like he did, if that's what he was doing and not acting, though I don't see how that could be possible given the final outcome.

So my perspective is, if ya gonna do it, do it quick and die in a field alone.
Far to many people in this world and far to many dumb asses.
Sure its a cold perspective but it's just the way I think about things.
Here we got a guy hooked up on the internet, gots a computer a little room a warm bed some food, fuck he even has the luxury of having pills and liqour...
Then there are people starving living in huts with no food nothing cept maybe a few rags to wear while a militia threatens there lives daily some who have dead parents, dead families or maybe have AIDS,and yet they choose to live the hard life that is really truly hard.

I was reading this thread and sharing some good and some ignorant comments with my daughter as we sit here on November 21, 2008... exactly 18 months after finding my son, her brother, deceased in my home.
I am really quite stunned with your comments. You were the very first person we called after the coronors left my house.

It's just a sign of the generations here in America.
Americans and I fear for our younger Americans when I say this are so spoiled, so given everything they could want and are raised by parents that do not discipline or raise them properly at fault. Once life settles in on these kids they are grossly unprepared for what is ahead of them.
The Americans that lived through the Great Depression lived hard lives and were very different type of Americans that were resourceful, thoughtful and decisive in finding ways to survive and even found happiness and comfort in poverty.
It is strong people that rise and the weak that fall like that piece of shit on the bed.
Blame this fuckers parents and be thankful that fucker offed himself the way he did rather than run to some school and shoot innocent kids.

The saddest part, IMO, is this could of happened on most boards and no one would do anything. It took Youtube ages to get posted videos of kids beating up other kids and adults and filming it on their mobiles.
But stick up a girl with her tits out and the speed these sites react is amazing.
Even kids who put up videos saying they will kill class mates seem to get little reaction from mods.

I'm bumping this cuz I feel I have a duty to. AlienQ is clearly not doing well. The pic Warchild posted to him with the guy with the gun to his head is really pushing it. Ice, you did the right thing to ban Alien in that other thread cuz he needed a time out, but Warchild really could use one too or at least a removal of that pic he posted. Very out of line considering how Alien is doing.
Just a side note of education for you. There are alot of instances where a person might go on and on about how they feel suicide is something "weak" people do etc. Alot of people who hold these views actually go through with it at some point. They hold that viewpoint for a while because they are mentally unstable, in great pain, and they suffer every day by being alive and they almost "envy" those who get to that point where they end it all. They sometimes will loathe them cuz of this.
I just would hate to see something happen to Alien. I know he's really wound up and pissed off... and because of the strong support from others of warchild, I for one am noticing the meltdown and the bandwagon jumpers nailing him pretty hard with more salt in his wounds. People need to back off him a bit and let him cool down. Just my
