I've been thinking about this. I think It's alot like what Trump did during his campaign. By assigning a derogatory label to someone like "Cooked" Hillary, "Lie'in Ted", etc, it makes it faster and easier for the weak-minded to dismiss someones viewpoints, even when factual.

First, it wasn't illegal. Next, the IRS looked at Democratic groups too. Did you know that there were over 400 conservative groups that the IRS looked at? Do you not think that its possible that any of them might be collecting donations illegally?

It is interesting that you say this. Last night I was flipping around channels and stopped on Fox news and they had a Democrat strategist on who basically said the same thing. He said one of the problems with the party is that they got distracted with things like Black Lives Matters and transgender bathrooms and got off what they used to be about which was trying to help working class, blue collar people. They took their eye off that ball and Trump was able to swoop in and offer those people something the dems weren't.Comment

another interesting factoid i heard is this...in 2008, you could be on the fence about gay marriage, transgender bathrooms, & be in the party (clintons)
but after 8 years of obama, identity politics has come to dominate the leadership, & the entire democrat establishment, that includes the media & the colleges, is now so PC extreme, dems are systematically losing elections across the country. except core blue states.
& hilarys loss despite winning the popular vote, shows the party lacks breadth. its a city urban identity politics party, & that does not play with voters in rural places. so swing voters in the midwest decide our presidents. not city voters. dems can get POTUS back when they appeal to these people. being the 2nd black president, or first woman, is, & has always been, secondary.
