    Good to see Republicans can accept the outcome of an election. . .or not

    North Carolina just held its gubernatorial election and the Democrat ended up winning. How did the Republican-controlled legislature deal with the loss? By quickly calling a special session and passing several laws that greatly reduce the powers of the Governor. The outgoing Republican Governor has signed them.

    Way to keep it classy.

          They really are the worst. When they're not shitting all over the little guy or trying to discriminate against some group of people, they spend the rest of their time being cheats and sore losers.

          They're the antithesis of progress. During the next four years, with Republicans in control there will be only moving backwards -- because that's their ideal world. One that stay exactly the same or goes back in time. I wish they could name one fucking thing Republicans will be doing in this term which will move us into the future. Coal and oil? More money in the pockets of the rich? Laws to discriminate against gays and minorities? To them, that is progress.

                      How can the Governor-elect fight this? He has no power. The Republicans control the state legislature and the outgoing Governor is a Republican. There might be some things he can do to reverse a few of these things once he gets into office, but he still has to deal with the Republicans who clearly have no interest in working with him.

                                  He is doing that. There are people picketing the capital building tonight in NC. Based on what I just saw on the news, it sounds line he will likely have to deal with some of these things in court.

                                  I hope, like you say, he continues to remind people what they did so when the next election comes around those who disapprove can show that anger with their vote.

People have been protesting, but IMO they should just got to these fuckers houses and beat the shit out of them. It's one thing for them to pass a bad law, but trying to circumvent the people's vote in shady private seasons because they lost is outright disregard for democracy.. They should be strung up tarred and feathered then send their asses to jail.

                                              Every single person whom voted in favor of these bills should be kicked out of office and charged with a conspiracy to over throw the state govt. The governor's hands are tied because he has to do it legally, however the people of that state should be rioting. Take justice into their own hands.

                                                      Another person who doesn't get it. The US and the EU have been moving backwards for the last 20 years or more. Research manufacturing, wages by percentile and jobs to see how this has happened.

                                                      The economy may have grown. But it only went to the few. Who fucked us in 2008, we then bailed out and are on track to fuck us again. So we can bail them out again.

                                                      As for not accepting, the Democrats are really butt hurt that so many didn't just vote for one of the people who has made their lives worse.

Why was there no mention of this during the election? Why did they wait until the Democrat won THEN called a special session to pass these laws? We know why, some of us, clearly, just don't want to admit it.

                                                                                                                      If the reverse were true and Obama and the Democrats held the House and Senate then held a special session to strip incoming President Trump of some of his powers Republicans would cancel Christmas, seal the borders, and revoke everyone's birthdays in a fit of rage.
