- how far from airport to downtown in each city
- do you have to pay a departure tax fee in one city if you leave the airport
- cost of taxi to downtown

2. exchange rate differences between the two

3. go to lonelyplanet.com and ask questions on the Thorn Tree message board there on what the attractions are of the two to figure out what works best for ya.

I've spent alot of time in the MongKok district of
HongKong. (By the old KaiTak airport) 88pub over
by The Stanford is a great place to hangout.
With a couple of days to burn, head over to the mainland!
Jump the Kowloon Canton Railway to the LoWo station
and then walk across to the LoHu border. Go find
DongMen market... south side will put you into one of
the best places in all of South East Asia to find girls.

Better yet, find The Landmark in ShenZhen on the
mainland. Go into the cafe, find Andi and ask him if
Yung Mai is around.

You can get a mainland tourist visa right at the Lo Wo
station up on the 2nd floor.

Tokyo,... don't know, never laid over there.

If you got to Hong Kong, make sure you know some
of the language, only about 60% speak english.

Japan has a nice respect for DJ culture so you have a lot of nightlife options. Dance music and hip hop are well represented there. There's also great restaurants where you can get just about any type of food and not have to wonder, 'Is this dog, hmm... maybe cat... goat... no, maybe Yak!' I can't forget the bars where even the stuffiest businessman will let it all hang out! Sapporro! Ya gotta love a 64 ounce glass lined aluminum can!


Japan has tons of different types of areas like the Ginza district which is nice for the sightseer's and Shibuya which is filled with hot little nicely tanned rappungi Japanese babes... and cool bars and small clubs too.

They are also a relatively wealthy country compared to China. This changes the criminal element. You might get mugged in Japan but China is still a place where a woman can still get kidnapped and sold.

Something also to consider is the size of the people in Mong Kok - I'm not joking - I'm 6'3 and the entire area is made for people 5'6 and under. Plan on spending a lot of time going outside just to stretch. Plus Mong Kok is the noisiest most dense place on Earth - it does take some time getting used to, although depending on where you are from it could be a lot easier.

Tokyo is much cleaner and much much more cosmopolitan. If you are going with any intention of getting sex in your 3 day stay then I would recommend Tokyo - it is a straight up sex town - expensive as hell, but you can get anything you want - really - anything.

Either way, where ever you go you will be sure to have a good time - both places have very friendly people and some of the most beautiful women you will find anywhere. One word of warning regarding the women in Tokyo - they do fall in love very easily - at least they say they do - and they are the clingiest women on Earth, make sure you have a fast way out.
