                      In theory he could still win, because the Electoral College doesn't vote until December - they're the group who actually elect the President.

                      However, since Obama won by so many electoral votes over McCain, it's virtually inconceivable that so many would switch, since in the past 220 years combined, only a handful of electors have ever done so.

                                                  It's in the Constitution - same place where all that talk of slaves, most often black, only counting as 3/5ths of a person for enumeration purposes (they couldn't actually vote), which inflated the number of house representatives, and also electoral votes, that heavily populated slave states would get over other states.
