Find happiness within like when you were a child and needed nothing. If life is misery for you it's because you talked yourself in to believing it is...

If ya get a terminal disease then no use waiting months to die, run up da credit cards and stop paying them, rob a gas station and spend all the money on strippers/escorts etc... run outta money go rob something else, free stolen money until ya caught and if your gonna die anyway might as well go out with a bang literally

Your post reminds me of an eBook I downloaded on amazon. Called "The universe doesn't give a flying fuck about you". It's funny and makes a lot of sense. I remember one passage "if you want to be awesome, do something awesome". The book basically says no one cares about you but you and what you make of your life is up to you. Great book. Free at amazon and it's a quick read.

There is nothing to look forward to except illness and depression.

A life, not being able to contribute anything to society, really isn't a life at all. It's more of a bacteria's way of life. Alive, but not really alive.
I was an abandoned kid and have no family but for my son now. I also worked taking care of people at an old folks home for a year when I was 19.

When I worked at the old folks home the happiest residents, day to day, were the ones helping others everyday, also creators, writers artists, etc.

The more you give the more you realise your value and carve your place in the world, if even for a moment, a day, months or years.

There was a woman I cared for that had become bedridden and blind, she was an author. Everyday I'd go in and she'd recite vivid bits from these awesome stories she had written. To this day I remember her with warmth and fondness.

When I was a little kid and in front of the judge, with my mother on the other side of the family court, after the judge ordered I am now property of the state, he paused and looked at me while I was tearing up and he told me "none of what's happened here is your fault" "life isn't about what's been taken away or what you don't have" "Life's about being grateful for what you have while recognizing the miracles in your life and knowing you're never alone" So of course I became a pornographer

To me, if you focus on all the things you don't have, or might lose, you lose focus of the important things you uniquely possess and have to offer others. Feeling worthless is a red flag that you're not focussing on what's important.

CurrentlySober is a great example. He might be broke as all fuck but he can ALWAYS eat shit, without fail, and THAT, is a gift.

I have kids. I know I would hate to lose my parents. My step daughter has lost her dad and I see the damage it does.

              I'm sticking around for them.

People on low incomes rarely have any wisdom to share or skills.

40 years ago, or was it longer? I saw my Father's business hit the buffer's, he picked himself up again and rebuilt it. BUT, the scary thing was he had no life insurance, no pensions and nothing but the roof over his head. It was a very nice house, still no guaranty of income.

Since then I put money into pensions and investments, all long term. Even during the lean years and in the fat years I put a lot away.

Now I have no financial worries and a growing bank account. OK, I'm a miser.

Be warned you 30 somethings, getting old isn't a process that stops. The OP is spot on.

Money isnt everything.. it sure helps but I know many rich miserable people.

If you travel alot you will find some of the poorest countries have very happy people as they have different priorities... cambodia, Thailand, etc.

In the US we've made the almighty dollar central to happiness, which is sad.

That being said, hit me up for traffic, need to make more!

If you think money alone is going to magically solve any happiness issues you are lacking now or in the future then the problem is bigger than you realize...

I agree, I have lived in SE Asian for the past 10 years, I've seen many happy people that are poor. People are talking about money brings happiness, BS, just look at all the rich people committing suicide. The problem, people want to be better then others or have more then them... they are competing to see who has more, lol.. feel fuckin pity for them;) at the end of the day, they also wipe their asses with toilet paper.

Plenty of things to look forward too. Maybe you can date an Olsen twin. Or do they only date rich old dudes?

I like reading and I like the countryside, as long as I have food and shelter I will be happy if I can continue to read and go on country walks. Good health is also required of course

money makes life easier but it doesn't make people "happy". if you are unhappy and poor chances you'd be unhappy and rich.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..
