Sadly, I think this is entirely true. Google already controls so much of what is accepted truth by controlling what pages on the web people will find when asking certain questions.
Just for adult, it has become so much more difficult to find adult sites than it used to be. Obviously, there is still tons of porn to be found via Google and professionals will SEO the fuck out of certain terms. But, for a company with trademark adult properties, if the name is not titsasscumgarglingfelchwhores, then they are going to have a tough time getting found in Google.
