Now more and more Free cam sites are showing up ... are they the new murderer of the business?

not sure how popular free cam sites already are, but I assume they don't offer private shows, so theoretically there's still something for the surfer to pay for...

anyway, I honestly don't see anything on the horizon that would make this biz (read: conversions) better again

3 years from now and half of the current GFY'ers will be working at McD's

I wonder if I will be one of them...

Take a good at most of those free cam sites. They are full of gay guys and nasty fat girls. All the free cam sites I have seen are advertising other camsites, basicly hoping surfers can't find what they want on the free site and will go to the paysite. So sure they will hurt cams some but I don't really see them hurting the business as much as tube sites.

they are not doing private shows ... but still people can see what they want. and its another place for the models to get visitors for msn/paypal-deals.

and you remember the discussion whether video-tubes can earn on the advertising they do .... they are still there. so they seem to survive on that.

but what will be the next step???

im just saying there are lots of things in this biz now that make people worried

you entered this biz quite recently as far as i remember and you adapted fine I think, but people here were used to making money in much easier ways than it is doable nowadays

sure thing, even with an average conversion of 1:10k and even with the economy getting into a recession for 3 years, there will be still people in adult driving Ferraris, but it's def. much harder than it used to be.

show me some free cam sites where people get naked. i can't see many attractive women getting naked for free - though as a place to find guys to do private cam shows using Yahoo/Paypal etc that would be great for girls to be able to cut out the middleman.

there is a new one every day ... just look around ... it like with the tube sites ... the scripts becoming cheaper so everybody who has access to a serverfarm gives it a try.

I just checked out Cam4 and thought it sucked. Stickam is geared toward kids...get naked on there and they threaten legal action (corruption of minors, etc.). I've seen several cam sites for free as well, they're promoted both at the tube sites and specially in torrents/free password sites. Found them when I was monitoring for content from a site I help manage - most of them required account though, so I thought they were fake, hadn't seen Cam4 :-| it might have fake content, but they DO have at least a few real performers...

Also, whoever made a translation of the fake content is terrible... because OF COURSE someone 40 years old with a degree in design would not know how to spell their profession properly...
