I just slapped this together while having my morning coffee,... I do not claim to know it all, so is there anything I can add? As usual, I follow my golden rule: K.I.S.S. so I kept it as short as possible and did not get technical...

Why did I make this page? Because I am in the process of removing links from my sites of those who practice these methods.

I started doing my own tours to get away from certain lack of control over clicks, and I will certainly continue to send traffic to my own stuff and educate surfers on how to not get tricked by this stuff. I am not directing this at any one sponsor, but I know I have a lot of link s up to this prechecked crosssale shit thats hitting cards for $100 after they join. Not cool.

Err that's a pretty full disclosure xsell setup, I don't see anything deceptive or "unsafe" about it... Nor for the epoch join page you used in the writeup. IMO you should be focussing on companies that hide the xsells or charge the cc with no notifaction.

I was not using the sample pic as saying "this is the bad stuff" I just needed a generic signup page to use and grabbed the first one i hit with prechecked bonus access.

i am by far not a friend of x-sells - but these are at least fully clear and understandable, even with a preview of the sites - something i have rarely seen before. Godaddys x-sells are much worse than those - lol

i general i'd wish the pre-checking would be forbidden - let the people choose themselves. but that would probably cost 70% of the sales since i assume that speculating that people misread or do not notice the extra charges is part of the process

I understand this, but this is what I meant by "i didnt get too technical" - no offense but you start going into this type of talk with a surfer, maybe i am wrong, its too spooky for them. "i shouldnt click anything in here during trial" - I wanted to make this page as less spooky as possible.

i mean, i tried to KEEP IT SIMPLE, as simple as i can, always do.

the page basically has 2 warnings.

1. Read the sign up page carefully (duh!)
2. Look for prechecked bonus access

what could possibly be wrong with that type of warning? Nothing.

i am trying to restore confidence in the surfer, not educate them to the adult industry underground lol

Sounds fair to "take away" the last bit of doubt the surfer might have. For example give the surfer a 60 seconds download clock in the member area to get an impression and then give a small pop-up "preview time expired, do you want you membership to start now; click yes or no to cancel". This might seem to scare people away at first but I think it will gain more trust to click the "yes" with utmost confidence by beeing honest to the surfer and prevent these expensive chargebacks at the same time as a side effect.

That's about the same strategy as a showing trailers & thumbs on a VOD site.

however, i dont think i push any sponsor who does it that way and i dont know any off the top of my head... as i said, i grabbed the first signup page with prechecked sales that i could find.

can you link one that does the scroll down method?? i will add a second image comparing it to the first example signup... maybe that will help differentiate from the two methods.
