          For Bush here is a small clue from the article:

          Parents' jobs: Father was president of the United States. Mother was first lady and author.

          It makes it easier to sign drilling contracts with Bahrain or get tax credits when building ballparks in Texas.

          The Palin's assets just top $1000000. As a couple, not Sarah alone. Not hugely impressive for a couple in their forty's.

                                          1M isn't THAT impressive, one just needs to for example
                                          a. make 100k per year (16% of households in the US make that, so very achievable if you have your shit together)
                                          b. save+invest 10% of what you make (very achievable too)

                                          and in 15 years or so you will have around 1M

                                                  Bush was born into a wealthy family. That takes zero talent. As for Palin, I really don't understand how she could of made so much money. Mayor and Governer aren't exactly high paying jobs. Todd apparently ran a fishing company and now works in oil but isn't high up there. It doesn't add up at all.
