Seriously, what is it that everyone has against a 9mm? If you're shooting defensive loads, the expansion difference between a 9mm and .45 is about 1/10 of an inch. Add to that the ability to fire more quickly and more accurately and with less practice. Plus - nearly 2x the rounds in the magazine, 3x if you can LE mags.

I didn't know shit til' my husband went to the academy. I refused to have a weapon in my house that I didn't know how to use. So I educated myself, and learned how to shoot. 10 years later, I'm a better shot than he is. Not with the shotgun though. Ow. Good news is you don't need to BE as accurate with a shotgun.

most people that own guns just go to the range and shoot targets and think they are experts..
if you have taken a tactical training course and done speed drills and then practice those drills regularly, it doesnt matter what you shoot 9 mm or 45..
even a meth head isnt going to keep coming with 3-5 shots center mast or 1 in the head..

We play around with some tactical stuff at the range, like moving the target and pausing, while the other shoots, using the range wall as "cover." I've learned and practiced some tactical stuff out in the desert. people forget about the adrenaline factor when in a fight or flight situation and how poor that can make an untrained person shoot.

I've been in that fight or flight situation with the shotgun in my hands. The only reason the idiotic 16 yr old that broke into my house didn't end up with his brains on my kitchen wall, is because I had an open door at my back.

OH he was reported, they got em and took 8 of his guns out of the his house I think.
It was quite an ordeal, but its good when the cops are on your side. I do not think he will be comming out anytime soon after this incident, as I think my uncle will be pressing charges. Its gonna be a long ordeal.
My uncle is OK though, he was pretty freaked, I was pretty freaked and I was very fucking scared the whole time it was going on I do not know about how level headed I was I just did my best to keep calm as the situation evolved in less than 30 seconds even though my heart was freaking entirely out as I was moving toward the truck, the beating was insane and I was high as fuck on adrenaline simply moving out of my garage to the front of my uncles truck seemed like forever to get to that of cover I needed. A shotgun will go wide even if he were off from an accurate aim, he would not need anymore than a second to level it on me if he saw me, thats all I could think at the moment. Its that right there that fucked my head the whole time.
I was not sure if the neighbor with the shotgun were to see me holding a gun that I may have ended in the back seat of the cop car as well. Once I knew his shotgun was empty I was relieved and very glad I didnt let him see that I was armed.
I am not perfect as to the laws of what would happen to me with the 9mm and if the cops were to know or if I had shot him in self defense or claiming self defense and not end up in the station myself, that was the last shit I wanted. My permit is clean and all so I think I got pretty lucky today in more ways than one by placing it in my hoodie pocket.
For one am not the kind of person that would look forward to shooting someone or killing them. As to anyone that looks forward to the kind of event I went through today you might want to seek some therapy.
I got an idea of how fucking messy things get with weapons hunting deer, cleaning them it's fuckin sick lots of blood, I really have a hard time picturing a dead guy with blood everywhere and it being my bullet that got em in my own fucking backyard...
Thanks for everyone that read this and I hope none of you ever have to go through this kind of thing this was amoung my first and I will be thinking about it for a long time.
