This was my first thought. Perhaps it doesn't matter if the drinks are diet or not because people who consume those drinks daily are probably not making the best health decisions overall, like the people who get a Big Mac meal with a Diet Coke.
Or maybe the people are drinking diet because they are already overweight or diabetic. What a shit "conclusion" from a study.
