Buying an XBox 360 today...I need a game recommendation.

I will be buying my xbox within an hour and I need a game recommendation....

I don't like learning the game offline so I will be plugging the game right in and going straight to xboxlive....

On my old system, counterstrike was my favorite game so I need some kind of FPS war type game....

Any suggestions?

COD4, gears of war, COD5 will be out soon, halo 3 of course,. If you like star wars there is the force unleashed. And some other awesome games coming out or have come out this week is far cry 2, fallout 3 and Fable 2. Then we have the dark adventure game dead space, supposed to be good and if you like online racing go with pure.

Ok I'm back and I picked COD4....I don't know why I expected to pay around 500 for a system..Mine with the 60 gig hard drive was 299.....

And as for the game, I guess that the girl cashier was so enthralled by my handsomeness that she deactivated the security tag on the game but forgot to scan it...I didn't realize until I was out the door that I had a FREE GAME and I wasn't about to turn around and go pay for it because maybe the girl did it on purpose...Who knows...Either way, I saved 60 bucks.

Time to hook it up and pack the bowl.

i think there is a little switch on the skart cable or something? i was @ a friend who also had that problem all i know is a small switch fixed it

can't go wrong with a free copy of cod 4, good thing you didn't have to pay for it cause cod 5 is just around the corner, BUT cod 4 just might be a little better then cod 5 in certain ways

HALO 3 is a must for online multiplayer

GTA 4 is pretty good for single player

Gears of War 2 is coming out soon, and should be great for multiplayer

there's a lot of good games, but it all depends on your personal taste, so I'd get a blockbuster monthly game pass, and just keep trying out all the older games that you haven't got to play that you might wanna try out, if you can.
