When I lived in NYC, my friend introduced me to a friend of his who was second in command at the steelworkers union. He said you want a job $1500 a week and this was in the early 90's. The thought of going those heights,I was like no way.lol
One or two terrorist attacks and that city will done for. They won't be able to convince the westerners to keep coming and spending money. You know it's going to happen too, some of those extremist will see that city as a disgrace to Allah.

Wow that building looks crazy tall. Used to work as an electrician in NYC and I would have jobs sometimes on the roof of an unfinished sky scraper. You wouldn't believe how cold and windy it gets up there and there is nothing to support you except a small railing. Highest I have ever been was 44 stories. Wonder how many stories that thing has looks incredible.
According to http://www.burjdubaiskyscraper.com/, the Burj Dubai skyscraper is 730 meters high right now. That's 2395 feet tall. The Twin Towers were 1,368 ft. That's a pretty big difference.

Wow, very beautiful but what a waste of money when there are so many people suffering.
yeah friend was there 2 months ago. He said that all the poor people (who build all these buildings, etc) live on the outskirts. And while you are allowed to take pictures of the beautiful, nice parts of the city, there are signs in the poor parts (slums) saying "no photos allowed"
very very impressive..but i wonder WHERE they want to go.. i mean, what's the purpose of that thing??? always bigger and bigger...then ppl will be like wooohoo hoooo - dont wanna sound negative, just that i think that there are much useful things that can be done.
